Respite Service

Overview

Aditus provides Community Residential Respite Services for people from fourteen (14) through young adult-hood  with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Pervasive Developmental Disorder- Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS), Asperger Syndrome (AS), Intellectual and other Developmental Disabilities, Brain Injury, Mental Illness, Behavioral Health, Attention Deficit Disorder, and those who due to attention, language, motor, social, emotional, and regulation problems have significant difficulty managing/functioning in their home, in school, or in the world.

Ashley Farm Respite Service for individuals from middle school through young adult-hood offer parents, guardians and families a break from the daily intensity of meeting the needs of their sons and daughters. Since few supports are available for these individuals after school, after day programs, after work, in the evenings, or on weekends, parents, guardians, and family members can easily become exhausted from their role as the primary provider of constant support.

Ashley Farm Respite Service offers a fully integrated service providing for the individual’s health, safety, nutritional, educational, social/emotional, and recreational needs and helps each individual strive toward the overarching goal of self-directed living. Ashley Farm Respite Service is staffed 24 hours per day, seven days per week, by a combination of Professional and Para-Professional staff. Each individual is provided with his/her own bedroom, ample living and learning space, comfort, privacy, and daily communication access to family and friends, while protected from health, accident, fire, and other hazards. Our Respite Services provide a full range of educational/residential training as determined by the needs of the individual including, but not limited to:  activities of daily living, independent living, community, recreational/leisure, social/emotional, and interpersonal communication skills.

Referrals for short term or long term respite service are considered from families, guardians, school systems and/or referring agencies when vacancies exist. People can join us for a short visit (typically a few days), a longer planned visit, or an emergency visit. Ashley Farm and Ashley Farm Annex are also available for hourly respite with advanced planning.
